Russia has promised retaliation for Ukraine's daring drone attack this week that could hit bombers as far away as Siberia. According to experts, that retaliation could come in the form of a nuclear weapon. "A possible scenario is a demonstrative deployment," says professor of international politics David Criekemans (UA).
Since Ukraine's June 1 Pautina operation, politicians in Moscow and Washington have expressed concern about the risk of escalating nuclear conflict, especially after Mr. Putin's strong response.
