SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — An Effingham County grand jury indicted a Guyton City councilman on five charges Monday. Theodore Hamby was arrested in March by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI). The 26-year-old is reportedly facing three counts of financial transaction fraud and two counts of making a false statement. Hamby is scheduled to be arraigned on June 26. Guyton councilman indicted on five felonies in city credit card case
Guyton City Councilman Theodore Hamby was indicted Monday on five felony charges related to the alleged misuse of a city credit card. The indictment includes three counts of financial transaction card fraud and two counts of making false statements. Hamby, 26, is accused of making more than $400 in unauthorized purchases and lying to a GBI agent during the investigation. He denies the charges.
