Researchers at Stanford University and Revelio Labs found that nearly 20% of established US LinkedIn users edited the descriptions or titles of jobs they had left years earlier, with tech workers doing so at a rate of nearly one in three. These changes, dubbed "time travel," aren't made while memories are still fresh, but instead reflect a change in personal branding, with the median time-travel edit occurring more than four years after the user left the role.
