Women in the early history of the Frankfurt Institute for Social Research

2025/16 The history of the Frankfurt Institute for Social Research (IfS) is mostly told on the basis of the biographies and works of male protagonists.The recently published volume »In the Shadow of Tradition« takes a decisive feminist look at the 100-year history of the IfS and illustrates the persistent androcentric suppression of women's activities in and around the Institute in its current historiography.
