Pedestrian fatally struck by vehicle in Englewood

An unidentified female victim was fatally struck by a vehicle Thursday evening on the South Side in the Englewood neighborhood, Chicago police said. Shortly before 7 p.m., the victim was struck by a Chevy in the 6300 block of South Morgan Street, and was taken to UChicago Medicine where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the Chevy was taken into police custody and charges were pending. The Major Accident Investigation Unit was investigating.
