- In Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood, a 1-year-old boy drowned Friday night, and a 31-year-old woman is in custody.
- Responding to a 9:45 p.m. call, the Chicago Police Department found a 31-year-old woman in Lake Michigan at the 7000 block of South Shore Drive.
- Recovered from Lake Michigan, the boy’s body was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, and police said he was pronounced dead.
- Amid the probe, Area One detectives are investigating the case, and it is unknown if charges are pending against the 31-year-old woman.
- Investigators later learned the suspect’s action, and she was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center.
