Mother, two children killed while crossing the street in Brooklyn multi-vehicle crash; 10 injured
- On Saturday, March 29, 2025, a 35-year-old woman and her two daughters, ages 6 and 8, were killed in Brooklyn when a 32-year-old woman driving an Audi crashed into them while they were crossing the street around 1 p.m.
- The driver of the Audi, whose license was suspended, rear-ended a Toyota Camry with TLC plates that was making a right turn onto Ocean Parkway before hitting the family in the crosswalk at Ocean Parkway near Quentin Rd in Midwood.
- A 4-year-old boy, also a member of the family, was critically injured and hospitalized, while the 62-year-old driver and four passengers in the Toyota Camry were treated for minor injuries.
- Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch stated, "This was a horrific tragedy caused by someone who shouldn't have been on the road," and Mayor Eric Adams described the incident as a "terrible, terrible accident" that was "extremely concerning and painful."
- Authorities are investigating if the Audi driver ran a red light, if speed or intoxication were factors in the crash, and no criminal charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
