Lionel Messi recorded three assists as Inter Miami secured a 4-1 victory with Tadeo Allende and Jordi Alba each scoring two goals, boosting their Eastern Conference standing.
On Saturday night at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Inter Miami beat New England Revolution 4-1, with Messi providing three assists.
After a two-match winless run, Inter Miami sought a response following conceding five goals at home earlier in the week, while Philadelphia Union clinched the Supporters’ Shield.
Messi intercepted a misplayed first-touch pass near the corner, quickly cut inside, and slipped a pass allowing Jordi Alba to score from point-blank range, with Alba netting twice in the 4-1 victory.
After the match, Inter Miami stands at 17-7-8 with 59 points, and Messi has 24 goals and 17 assists, totaling 41 goal contributions this season.
Inter Miami will next face Atlanta United on October 12, while New England Revolution are scheduled to meet Chicago Fire on October 19.
