With new acquisition, OpenAI signals plans to integrate deeper into the OS
- On Thursday, OpenAI announced it acquired Software Applications Incorporated, maker of Sky, with all 12 team members joining; terms of the deal were not disclosed.
- Founded by the Workflow team, the company previewed Sky earlier this year and raised $6.5 million in seed funding that included Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI.
- Sky functions as a natural-language Mac interface that helps with writing, planning, coding, and managing your day, Software Applications said, and the app is available on macOS now and coming to iOS, Android and Windows soon.
