Will he even play against Real Madrid in future? Dani Carvajal on the verge of a surprise move
The former Real Madrid defender has completed medical tests and reached a verbal agreement, with Getafe waiting for league approval on salary-cap rules.
Defender Dani Carvajal agreed to join Getafe as a free agent, pending LaLiga approval. The 34-year-old is set to continue his career in the Spanish topflight after leaving Real Madrid this summer.
Carvajal established himself as a Real legend over two decades, making 451 competitive appearances with 14 goals and 66 assists. He won the Champions League six times, the Spanish title four times, and the Copa del Rey twice with Los Blancos.
Despite his success, recent seasons proved difficult as Carvajal missed 18 competitive matches last season due to injuries, including a hairline fracture. These physical setbacks ultimately prevented him from being called up to the World Cup squad.
Getafe, currently in 11th place, must secure LaLiga approval regarding Financial Fair Play limits to finalize the deal. AC Milan also considered the defender following injuries to Alexis Saelemaekers and Pervis Estupinan.
If the transfer proceeds, Carvajal could face a reunion with Real around the turn of the year. The veteran is back in the spotlight after spending the summer without a club.
The player and former leader of the Real Madrid Club Danny Carvajal is preparing to return to the Spanish League, and his return may be very close, mostly by the end of this month...
