By Agência Brasil The federal government has established a minimum of 8% of public hiring positions for women who are victims of domestic violence. Decree No. 12,516, which makes the requirement official, was published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Wednesday (18). The measure includes cisgender women, trans women and transvestites, as well as women of other gender identities.
The Brazilian federal government announced that 8% of the vacancies in public contracts will be reserved for women who have suffered domestic violence, as provided for in the Decree No 12.516. This initiative covers women from the Schengen, transit, transit and other female identities under the protection of the Law of Maria da Penha. The Decree provides that if the same contract covers different types of services with an exclusive system of work, reserved vacancies should be distributed proportionately between the various services.
