The US Congress has removed from the 2026 defense budget bill a provision that would have called for Taiwan to be invited to the world's largest naval exercise, RIMPAC. The move has raised concerns in Taipei, who fear that Washington's political calculations have changed and could even open the way for Beijing to participate in the international military exercise, the South China Morning Post reported.
