Fresh off multiple sewage spills that dumped an estimated 1.3 million gallons of sewage into a waterway, dozens of Prichard area residents gathered at a town hall Thursday to learn more about the city’s long-troubled water and sewer utility.

Prichard Water receiver says funding needed to stop sewage overflows

The court-appointed receiver of the Prichard Water Works and Sewer System said at a town hall meeting the utility desperately needs grant funding to replace failing infrastructure and predicted sewage overflows will not decrease until that funding comes.
