On Eve of Yom Kippur: Netanyahu prays at Western Wall for IDF soldiers
The Prime Minister participated in the main Selichot service at the Western Wall and prayed for the well-being of IDF soldiers and security forces. Captivity survivors were greeted with cheers from the crowd.
Tradition: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyagu, on the night of Sunday, 20 September, took part in the last prayers before Yom Kipur, the slush of the Wall of Crystal in Jerusalem, and tens of thousands of people came to pray.
About 150,000 worshippers participated in the main prayer service at the Western Wall, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and exile survivors Elia Cohen, Rom Breslavsky, Elkana Buhbot and Ohad Ben Ami. The Western Wall Heritage Foundation said that nearly two million people participated in the prayer service. Events were also held in Hadera and Tel Aviv.
