- On Tuesday, the National Hurricane Center designated Tropical Depression Twelve-E as Tropical Storm Lorena when sustained winds reached 45 mph, placing it about 240 miles west of Manzanillo, Mexico.
- A disturbance offshore southwestern Mexico described by NHC Pacific is organizing less than 150 miles from shore and may become Tropical Depression Twelve-E within two days during the Eastern Pacific hurricane season running through Nov. 30.
- The NHC expects steady strengthening and warned Lorena could reach hurricane strength by Wednesday; NOAA noted Hurricane Hunters may investigate Wednesday afternoon with a west-northwest track forecast.
- Conagua and the SMN warned of 50-75 mm rain in Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán in 24 hours and up to 12 inches in Baja California Sur and southwestern Sonora through Friday.
- According to the FOX Forecast Center, abundant moisture will surge into the U.S. Southwest from Thursday, with heavy rain starting late Thursday or early Friday and 1-2 inches expected in Arizona and New Mexico.
