New York Islanders defenseman Matthew Schaefer was unanimously named the winner of the Calder Trophy, the National Hockey League's award for top rookie, on Wednesday.
Schaefer was the first unanimous choice in three decades, and at 18 years old and 223 days, the youngest winner.
