West of Mali: dozens of bodies discovered near Kwala military camp

In Mali, dozens of bodies were discovered near the Kwala military camp, in the Kulikoro region, west of the country, on the night of 21-22 April. The discovery was made by people in search of their relatives, arrested by the Malian army and the paramilitaries of Wagner on 12 April 2025 in Sebabougou, in the circle of Diema, still in the same area. The state of advanced decomposition of the bodies prevents their identifications.

Several local sources confirmed to Radio France Internationale (RFI) that bodies were found in the Sababougou region of Mali, but the exact number and identities of the victims remain unknown.
