Wayne County first responders train for radiological incidents

KENOVA -- More than a dozen first responders from Wayne County attended a Modular Emergency Response Radiological Transportation Training class on Oct. 11-12 at the Kenova Police Department. The MERRTT class, a part of the Department of Energy’s Transportation Emergency Preparedness Program, addresses response concerns of state and local officials related to the shipment of DOE-owned radioactive materials throughout the United States.
