In Nieuwegein, Hoogheemraadschap De Stichtse Rijnlanden opens the hundredth fish passage. Via the so-called fish lift between the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal and the ditches in the polders behind it, fish can now easily pass the Galecop pumping station, which used to be an insurmountable barrier, the water board reports.
