Wanted Gangster Himanshu Bhau in US Immigration Custody, Faces Multiple Murder Cases in India
- On Thursday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested Himanshu Bhau, India's most-wanted gangster, in Las Vegas after Indian agencies tracked his location using technical surveillance. Indian officials are coordinating with United States law enforcement to expedite his deportation proceedings.
- Himanshu Bhau, a native of Ritoli village in Rohtak, faces around 50 cases in Haryana involving murder, attempted murder and extortion. He fled India in 2022 using a forged passport to escape authorities before allegedly continuing his criminal operations from abroad.
- Investigations linked Bhau to violent incidents including the killing at a Burger King restaurant and shootings at gym owners' premises over alleged extortion demands and firing outside YouTuber Elvish Yadav's house. He allegedly claimed responsibility for three murders in Haryana within 24 hours in 2022.
- Authorities also picked up fugitive Neeraj Faridpuria, who works with the Bambiha gang, in the same operation. Faridpuria had been evading arrest after removing his ankle tracker following his detention and release on bail earlier this year.
- Bhau's criminal syndicate maintains a long-standing rivalry with Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar gangs. Indian agencies are preparing to bring him back to India to face the registered cases as a special team of senior officers coordinates with United States law enforcement on document work.
