The group of airlines IAG has set out to take positions of Ryanair in Spain once the low cost will execute a tijeretazo of a million seats to its winter offer to and from regional airports of the Aena network. One of the brands of holding led by Luis Gallego, Vueling, has announced reinforcements in two of the airports most touched by the withdrawal of the Irish one: Santiago and Tenerife Norte.
A few weeks before the start of the new winter season, in the last few days several airlines have reinforced their schedule for those dates in order to occupy the routes that will leave Ryanair, which will cut a million places in Spain. The announcement has not been made to wait; and as EL CORREO GALLEGO announced last Saturday, Vueling will increase its offer at Santiago airport by 15% after the closure of the Ryanair base. This was announced this Tuesday by the Spanish company in a statement that incorporates an additional plane and will offer more than 578,000 places in winter, fifteen percent more compared to 2024.
