Orbán government took on HUF 5 trillion in extra motorway costs citing Ukraine war, minister says
Hungary's previous government committed the state to at least HUF 5 trillion in additional motorway concession costs, citing the economic consequences of the war in Ukraine, according to Transport and Investment Minister Dávid Vitézy. Vitézy wrote on Sunday about the wartime investment cost compensation, with which the risks of the Russian-Ukrainian war were taken over from the Mészáros. However, the contract was signed before the outbreak of the war.
The so-called wartime investment cost compensation increased the amount to be paid by the state over the entire duration of the concession contract by at least 5 thousand billion forints, the Minister of Transport and Investment wrote on his Facebook page on Sunday.
