From 1 May 2025, when offering a mortgage loan, mortgage lenders must offer each client two individual options – one with a variable interest rate and one with a fixed interest rate of at least 5 years. If it is not possible to offer a five-year fixation for objective reasons, the bank must provide a measure that reduces the risk of fluctuations in the variable interest rate for at least the same period.
