Virat Kohli ruled out of India's ODI series vs Afghanistan due to injury: BCCI source
Star India batter Virat Kohli will miss the upcoming ODI series against Afghanistan due to a hamstring injury, marking a significant setback for the team.
The 37-year-old sustained the hamstring injury during the Indian Premier League 2026 final while playing for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru , where he led his side to their second straight title.
During that final against Gujarat Titans, Kohli amassed 75* runs in 42 deliveries to help chase down 156 runs; across 16 IPL matches, he accumulated 675 runs with one century.
His absence from the ODIs against Afghanistan could prove a huge blow for India, as the team was depending on his services for the series.
India and Afghanistan will face each other in one Test match in Mullanpur starting June 6, with ODIs scheduled for Dharamsala, Lucknow, and Chennai on June 13, 17, and 20.
