Eventually, 47 houses were built in Warren Row, many of which were originally home to agricultural workers. At the outset of the Cold War, Warren Row grew in significance, even though much of the information was kept secret. Initially, a nuclear bunker - located on the campus of Reading University - known as Region War Room 6 was constructed in the 1950s.
