Syria’s Druze find bodies in the streets while searching for loved ones after days of clashes
SWEIDA, SYRIA, JUL 17 – Over 500 killed in Sweida clashes involving Druze militias, Bedouin tribes, and Syrian forces amid Israeli airstrikes targeting Syrian military assets, officials said.
- The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported 300 Druze civilians killed in Sweida, including 154 civilians summarily executed by government forces.
- 257 government personnel and 18 Bedouin fighters were also killed, while 3 Bedouin tribesmen were executed by Druze fighters.
- Israeli airstrikes killed 15 government personnel, and Syria accused Druze forces of violence against Bedouin civilians.
