In the town of Haute-Savoie, which has become Tefal's largest French establishment, faced with massive and persistent contamination with perfluorinated substances, local elected officials say they are “moving forward step by step” to manage the environmental and health disaster. A documentary “Complement d'Enquiry” broadcast this Thursday evening reveals its extent and the proven role of the industrialist.
PFAS have been found in non-stick frying pans, including Tefal. On the Rumilly site in Haute-Savoie, for years, several bits contaminated with eternal pollutants were buried in a quarry. Exclusive documents have been obtained by France Télévisions and 29 European media.
According to an investigation by the Forever Lobbying Project consortium, removing PFAS from Europe's waters and soil will require enormous investments, which could reach two thousand billion euros over the next twenty years. Read
