The Town of Port McNeill is warning community members to take extra care in the outdoors after a “negative interaction” between a dog and a cougar ensued Thursday morning. At around 4 a.m. on Thursday, Conservation Officers received a report of a dog attacked and injured by a cougar in Port McNeill. The dog managed to get away and hide and was later taken to the vet.
