Veterans Drop in Center receives outpouring of support after break-in, violent attack

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The Veterans Drop-In Center says it has received an overwhelming amount of community support after a woman broke in and attacked a volunteer. Jennifer Gibson, 42, a former volunteer, is accused of breaking into the facility at 1539 S. 4th Street over the Fourth of July weekend and attacking a 77-year-old worker who discovered her inside on the following Monday morning. Gibson is also accused of leaving food out to spoil. …
