Venice adds Gaza documentary by Oscar-winning team to main competition
The documentary from the No Other Land directors was produced by The Guardian and James Wilson and will screen with the filmmakers present.

- Directors Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, who won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature with 'No Other Land,' are returning with a new documentary about the war in Gaza about a year and a half after their Oscar victory.
- The film's title 'NAZA' derives from a Hebrew military acronym for 'collateral damage'; shot at night on Tel Aviv rooftops, it is based on Abraham's investigations published between 2023 and 2025 in Local Call, +972 magazine and The Guardian.
- Executive producer Jonathan Glazer, Oscar-winning director of 'The Zone of Interest,' joins producer James Wilson on the project, with the film screening Sept. 10 at 5:15 p.m. in the Sala Grande alongside the directors and Guardian journalists.
- Last year, 'The Voice of Hind Rajab' won second prize at Venice with a record 23-minute standing ovation, marking the second consecutive year a Gaza-focused documentary has competed for the Golden Lion after international protests on the Lido.
