Following online reports that he had been abducted from a meeting, Vanke announced that Xin Jie had resigned, with Huang Liping taking over as Chairman. Xin Jie assumed the role of Chairman of Vanke Group in January of this year and was considered a "firefighter" dispatched by Shenzhen state-owned assets to Vanke.
