Utility pole snapped in half in Bristol crash

BRISTOL, R.I. (WPRI) — A car hit a utility pole in Bristol Monday night, causing it to snap in half and spark a small fire on the wires. The crash occurred around 11 p.m. on Metacom Avenue in the area of the old Benny's store. Officials shut down the road while crews were on scene, but it has since reopened.
