Police said Anaiya Harris, of Utica, left behind the dog in its crate when she vacated the apartment several weeks ahead of June 3, when the carcass was found by the landlord. Police said the dog had been locked in the crate, then locked in a closet and then the closet door was sealed with spray foam.
