BONNEVILLE COUNTY, IDAHO, JUL 15 – Emergency responders and bystanders safely rescued a Utah family of six from a van stuck on rocks in the Snake River, with no injuries reported, officials said.
- On July 15 in Swan Valley, Idaho, a Utah family’s van rolled into Snake River and lodged on rocks, prompting a rescue.
- After camping with friends, the family’s van drove too close to the embankment, causing the passenger-side tires to go off, deputies investigating the incident concluded.
- Multiple rescue agencies responded, utilizing boats and jet skis to reach the family, as bystanders including a BCSO Deputy secured the van.
- Despite exposure to the cold river water, the family was found unharmed, as Snake River Road was closed for approximately two hours during retrieval.
- Investigation into the crash is ongoing, and Snake River Road has since reopened.
