The State of Utah’s Department of Natural Resources issued a Stage Two Fire Restriction Order - effective starting Aug. 1 - citing “current and forecasted weather conditions coupled with the extremely dry vegetation conditions in Utah.”

Stage 2 fire restrictions go into effect statewide on Friday for all unincorporated and state lands in Summit County. As opposed to Stage 1 restrictions in which fires are allowed in campground and picnic areas, now there should be no open fires of any kind on state and unincorporated lands.
