- Wilkie, who has epilepsy, suffered a seizure earlier this year, prompting her to prepare Emi by teaching her to trust first responders like the cartoon character Chase from "Paw Patrol."
- During the emergency, Emi FaceTimed her grandmother, Ryan McLeod, in Georgia, who contacted 911, while the toddler followed dispatcher instructions and dragged a chair to unlock the front door.
- Dispatcher Wingfield maintained a calm voice to guide Emi through the crisis, later saying "I needed to make sure my voice sounded calm," while paramedics successfully treated Wilkie upon arrival.
- UT Health East Texas EMS also honored the toddler with a Build-A-Bear and a stethoscope, as Wilkie noted Emi aspires to help people when she grows up.
