The Senate of the Republic unanimously approved Tuesday, February 11, the entry into the country of military personnel of the United States Army to train Mexican sailors, as Sheinbaum requested last January. With 107 votes in favour, U.S. military personnel were authorized to participate in the training “Strengthening the Capacity of the Special Operations Forces of the Navy Secretariat.”
The Senate approved an opinion authorizing 10 U.S. Marines to enter the country to support Semar elements in training.
