- The measures prohibit American citizens and companies from engaging in transactions with designated entities, blocking them from accessing United States financial systems and property.
- Earlier this year, Washington imposed tariffs on oil supplies to Cuba, contributing to frequent power outages as the administration seeks to intensify pressure on the island.
