DR Congo: US Sanctions Armed Group, Mining Firms

In the United States, the Foreign Assets Control Office of the Treasury Department announced that it had imposed new sanctions against actors involved in armed violence and the trade in critical minerals in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The five actors, including the Coalition des patriotes résistants congolais-Force de typé, are all accused of illegal exploitation and smuggling of minerals in the Rubaya mining area.
