The U.S. State Department labeled the Cartel de los Soles a foreign terrorist organization to expand legal and financial actions against Venezuelan officials linked to drug trafficking.
- On November 16, the United States designated the Cartel de los Soles as a foreign terrorist organization, adding it to the State Department foreign terrorist organization list and enabling new sanctions targeting Maduro's assets.
