US envoy Witkoff holds 'constructive' Ukraine talks with Russia

On Saturday, Steve Witkoff posted on X that he held constructive talks in Florida with Russian Special Envoy Kirill Dmitriev, describing the meetings as productive and encouraging peace efforts.
Teams from Ukraine and Russia met Friday and Saturday last week in Abu Dhabi on a plan pushed by President Donald Trump, but Kyiv says territory remains unresolved.
A source reported the talks began at 8:00 am in Miami, attended by Scott Bessent, US Treasury Secretary, Jared Kushner, and White House Senior Advisor Josh Gruenbaum.
The Kremlin said President Vladimir Putin agreed to a pause on strikes ending Sunday after a request by President Donald Trump, and Zelensky said negotiators are waiting for US updates.
The second round in Abu Dhabi is set to start on Sunday, though Volodymyr Zelensky said earlier this week that `Ukraine is ready to work in all working formats` and preparations continue for meetings next week.
