[Hiyanami Sumiyo, US Special Correspondent] It has been learned that the House of Representatives draft of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026 (October 2025 to September 2026), currently under deliberation in the US Congress, includes a clause to extend the expiration date of firefighting foam (AFFF) that contains fluorocarbon compounds (PFAS).
