Over 40 Coaching Institutes Sealed in Uttar Pradesh Districts over Safety Violations
Officials sealed or warned more than 100 coaching centres as teams checked fire, building and electrical safety compliance after the Lucknow blaze.

- Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay on Tuesday ordered all district magistrates to conduct comprehensive surveys of coaching institutes operating in their districts to create a "safe, organised and reliable educational environment."
- In Kanpur's Kakadeo area, the Kanpur Development Authority and Fire Department sealed 30 coaching institutes after investigators discovered basements designated for parking were illegally converted into classrooms.
- Authorities sealed prominent institutions including Khan Global Studies, Physics Wallah, Workspace, Mahendraraj, and Sanjeev Rathore Chemistry, with the crackdown resulting in action against more than 100 coaching centers for safety violations.
- Regular inspections will continue as officials prioritize compliance with fire safety standards; Chief Fire Officer Chandra Mohan Sharma noted only 15 of 97 registered coaching institutes have secured mandatory Fire No Objection Certificates .
