Polish energy giant Orlen and local nuclear energy company Synthos Green Energy have agreed to build a small modular nuclear power plant in the central city of Włocławek.

Europe's first small nuclear power plant, the BWRX-300, will be built in Włocławek, Orlen announced. This confirms Business Insider's earlier reports about an agreement with Synthos.

According to findings of the Energetyka24 portal, Orlen and Synthos have reached an agreement on the development of small nuclear reactors (SMRs) of the BWRX-300 type.
