Do you know the village of Lužec nad Vltavou? Most Czechs probably don't, but it is a unique geographical feature of the country. This village in the Mělník district is the only village in the Czech Republic whose entire built-up area is located on an island. It is washed by the waters of the Vltava River and the artificially built Vraňansko-hořínský branch canal.
