Ulster legislator aims to bar lawmakers from raising own salaries mid-term

KINGSTON, N.Y. — County Legislator Jason Kovacs wants to bar lawmakers from raising their salaries mid-term. Kovacs, R-Ulster, has proposed changing the county charter and administrative code to require that any legislative salary increases take effect at the beginning of the next legislative term.
