Ukraine hits major Russian oil refinery with British missiles, officials say
Ukrainian long-range drones ignited fires in oil tanks at Temryuk port, damaging facilities over 2,000 square meters with no civilian casualties but one firefighter injured, officials said.
- On December 25, 2025, Ukrainian-made long-range drones struck oil product tanks at Temryuk port, Krasnodar Krai, causing two tanks to catch fire and flames to cover about 2,000 square metres.
- Since August, Kyiv has stepped up strikes on Russian oil refineries and energy infrastructure to cut Moscow's oil revenues, targeting sites that supply diesel and aviation fuel to Russian forces.
- Local emergency services reported one firefighter injured and taken to a city hospital while battling the blaze, with damage to production buildings and agricultural equipment in Nikolayevka Village, Shcherbinovsky district.
- Russia's Defence Ministry said it shot down between 141 and 170 drones overnight, including seven over Krasnodar Krai, while the Ukrainian Air Force reported about 131 attack drones launched, including Shahed and Geran variants.
- Both Kyiv and Moscow have increased attacks on energy infrastructure in recent months, with Kyiv-linked drone units hitting the Tamanneftegaz oil terminal, a liquefied gas terminal in Temryuk, and the Orenburg gas processing plant about 1,400 kilometres from the Ukrainian border.
