Ukraine's drone attack forces airport closures around Moscow, Russia says
- On Monday, Russian air defence systems destroyed 193 Ukrainian drones overnight, including 34 over Moscow and 47 over the Bryansk region.
- Starting just before 10 p.m. on Sunday, Sergei Sobyanin said the Moscow intercepts unfolded within a six-hour span.
- Regional governor Alexander Bogomaz reported a Ukrainian drone struck a Bryansk minibus, killing one person and injuring five, while Rosaviatsiya closed Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports for about 2.5 hours from 2240 GMT.
- The defence ministry added that interceptions occurred over 11 other regions, chiefly west and south, while Reuters could not independently verify and Ukraine gave no immediate comment.
- Kyiv has previously said its strikes target infrastructure key to Russia's war, and both sides deny targeting civilians while Russia's disclosure practices limit damage reports.
