Zelenskyy instructs Umerov, Shmyhal to prepare proposals to improve process of preparing lists for exchanges
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Rustem Umerov and Minister of Defense Denys Shmyhal to prepare proposals to improve the process of preparing lists for exchanges, as well as to improve the system of treatment of those released from captivity.
Thousands of prisoners have been allowed to return home from Russia, Zelensky announced, who also spoke of another exchange and the release of civilians.
Since the outbreak of Russia's war against Ukraine, Kiev has managed to return 5,857 people from Russian captivity and, in addition, free another 555 people outside the agreed prisoner exchange.
