UK travel company falls into administration after 24 years with holidays cancelled
More than 750,000 travellers have used Groupia since 2002, and bookings after Sept. 1, 2026, have been cancelled, the company said.
On June 16, Bath-based Groupia Ltd entered administration after 24 years in business. Joint administrators Nigel Fox and Christopher Marsden of Partners LLP are managing the company's collapse.
Since 2002, Groupia served more than 750,000 travelers, operating brands including StagWeb, GoHen, and Company Away Days to destinations such as Prague, Split, and Barcelona.
Administrators stated, "The Company has now ceased taking new bookings, and arrangements are in place with ABTOT to support customers with existing bookings." ABTOT provides financial protection for current travel plans.
Holidays booked on or before August 31, 2026, are expected to proceed, while those scheduled for after September 1, 2026, are cancelled. Affected customers can seek refunds via Gallagher Bassett.
Groupia's administration reflects a broader travel industry downturn in 2026, following Salamander Voyages' entry into administration in April. Zenith Aviation Limited and other travel firms have also ceased trading this year.
